Dr. Shawn Ferguson is the caring father of 4 children, ages 9-19. He became involved in chiropractic 22 years ago, when he and Dr. Dan Ribley produced a series of chiropractic TV commercials for cable TV. At that time, Dr. Shawn was in the Air Force National Guard serving his country. During his service, the AFNG ordered him to take a vaccination, and he refused after learning about the harmful side effects of vaccines during a chiropractic seminar. Dr. Shawn consequently discharged (Honorable) from service and thus began his career as a chiropractor.

Dr. Shawn started Ferguson Family Chiropractic in 1995, in Acworth, GA and grew the practice into the busiest family/pediatric practice in the Southeast. In 2003, Dr. Shawn was elected to serve on the board of trustees for Life University school of chiropractic in Marietta, GA. He was instrumental in growing LU into the largest chiropractic school in the world. He was honored for his service in 2009, being asked to serve as the chairman of the board for the university.

Dr. Dawn Mavromatidis

Dr. Dawn Mavromatidis was born and raised on Long Island, NY, where she enjoyed going to the beaches, sailing, and spending time with family all within a stones throw from NYC and all the fun things a big city has to offer. She knew at a young age that she wanted to be a doctor and narrowed it down to either a pediatrician or a veterinarian. Her career path turned just ever so slightly when she met her chiropractor, Dr. Mark Studin. He showed her the healing art of chiropractic and made a profound impact in her life. He sent her down to Georgia to Life University Chiropractic school to get her education. Dr. Dawn wasn’t so sure about leaving her “city life” and coming down to a place where she might encounter Dukes of Hazard folks, but her false assumptions were quickly dispelled and she and her husband Harry fell in love with the South and decided to stay and start their family. Dr. Dawn has four children, and army of animals (3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 birds, and 2 horses), and is living her dream! She found that with chiropractic she didn’t have to choose between caring for kids or animals, she can do both! She followed her passion and now specializes in women’s health, infant and children’s health and wellness, and caring for animals. For her chiropractic is truly for ALL members of the family: young and old, big and small, two and four legged. When Dr. Dawn isn’t in the office, you can find her at the barn, either adjusting or riding her horses or spending time outside. She loves to garden, camp, kayak, hike or travel. She believes that chiropractic is more than just an adjustment, but a lifestyle that encompasses taking care of your mind, body, and spirit. She welcomes your questions and looks forward to helping you start your journey to better health!

Dr. Melanie D. Butler is a graduate of Life University in Marietta, Georgia. She dedicates herself to treating not the symptoms of a patients’ condition, but the ORIGIN of the symptoms to help them function at an optimal level. Dr. Butler received her B.S. degree in Biology from The University of Memphis. She decided to become a Chiropractor after her father suffered from debilitating back pain and made a miraculous recovery with chiropractic treatment. She is skilled in many techniques such as Diversified and Thompson and is a member of many chiropractic organizations. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her two children, Peyton and Addison.
